Welcome to the Red House.

A serene place to come together over good books and even better food.

At the Red House, located outside Poulsbo, Washington, we celebrate building community with one another, looking for opportunities to bring together people from different backgrounds and belief systems so that we can learn and grow together. From reading books together and discussing around a common table filled with delicious food, we will learn from one another. As we take this a step further we are able to join in retreat opportunities that spur inner growth and relationships. I am excited for you to join me on this adventure of building community with those around us in new and adventurous ways.

What makes the Red House so special.

  • Welcoming & Compassionate

The Red House is an inviting space for everyone and not just those that all think alike. Facilitating events in a way that allows people to disagree and feel safe to open up and share without fear of judgment is paramount. Through this collaboration of different opinions, we are able to grow in community with one another.

  • Beautiful Grounds

At the Red House, you are immersed into a beautiful setting surrounded by nature. Whether flower gardens or vegetable gardens, fruit trees or cedar trees, the property offers a peaceful beauty in which to gather.

  • Peaceful

Tucked away in the woods, not only are the grounds beautiful, but the ambiance you are surrounded with once you are here encourages an inner peace that is sometimes hard to find. Whether gathering with a glass of lemonade to walk the grounds, taking a writing workshop, enjoying a meal, or discussing a recent read, you will feel at peace while you are here and hopefully take that peace with you when you leave.

  • I’m telling everyone I know about this place. The food and the discussion are amazing and they’re completely welcoming and warm. I just felt immediately at ease.

  • Overall what I enjoyed the most was getting to have great food and great conversation - probably two of my favorite things.

    Erica

  • It’s such a safe place here. Everyone is so warm and welcoming. There’s no judgment. I think that’s been a real key component with it.

About Me

Hi, I’m Jessica, the owner of the Red House.

I love bringing people together to create community. I have been doing it for over 20 years in different capacities. From Grand Camping Weekends when our children were young, filling campgrounds with amazing food, contagious laughter, and irreplaceable memories, to our annual Fall Chili Party where we invite all to join us for a delicious chili potluck, live music, conversations with existing and new friends. One of the greatest joys I took away from eight years in a MA program was the ability to practice building community with people who didn’t always think like I did.

I am continually encouraged by the importance of bringing people together in community to learn about one another and build relationships. I want to be able to talk about things that might be hard, that might bring out our differences. My hope is that this will help us learn more about one another and begin to appreciate our differences.
